important quotation
'i did not see anyone but your nonno for six months. it was so hot, Jozzie, that i would wash myself and two minutes later I would need to wash again, but i couldn't because we could not waste water. There was no air-conditioning then. No tiles on the floor to keep the house cool. No room i could go to, to cool down. The house was a shack. One room and a dirt floor.(pg.. 78)'

"Well you shouldn't be listening to my conversations anyway. This is a free country. I have the right to say whatever i want,'
'and so do i you racist pig'
'how dare you, you wog,' she said standing up
'But i thought you said i wasn't one.'
'And your more than a wog, if you know what i mean' (pg.. 82)'

' i walked past my classmates with Michael Andretti beside me and for a few minutes I knew how it felt walking alongside ones father. It was a great feeling. (pg. 90)'
